Terms of Service

These terms cover your use of familydealscanner.com ("the service"). By registering an account, or using the free homepage search, you agree to them. See also our Privacy Policy for how we handle your data.

What the service does

Family Deal Scanner searches for kids' activity businesses near an address you provide and uses automated tools, including AI analysis of those businesses' own public websites, to surface current events, offers, and discounts. It's a discovery tool, not a booking or ticketing service.

No guarantee of accuracy

Listings, offers, prices, dates, and availability are pulled automatically from third-party sources (Google's business listings and each business's own website) and summarised using AI. We do our best to keep this accurate and current, but we can't guarantee it — websites change, offers expire, and automated summarisation can occasionally get something wrong. Always confirm details (price, dates, availability) directly with the business before making plans or a booking. Because listings are compiled automatically we can't promise they are accurate or current, and we aren't liable for loss you could reasonably have avoided by checking with the business first.

We're not a party to any booking

Any booking, purchase, or interaction you have with a business found through Family Deal Scanner is solely between you and that business (or the ticket seller you book through). We don't process payments or issue tickets ourselves, and we aren't responsible for a business's conduct, service, or the accuracy of what they themselves publish.

Affiliate links

Some links on the site — and in our emails — are affiliate links. They are always labelled where they appear (for example "Book tickets · affiliate link"). If you follow one and go on to book, the ticket seller may pay us a commission. It costs you nothing extra, and it's how a free service pays its running costs. We work with sellers through the Awin and Partnerize affiliate networks.

Commission never decides what we show. Whether a venue has an affiliate link does not affect whether it is listed, what we say about it, or where it appears — lists are ordered by distance or by the offers we found, never by what we might earn. Prices and availability are set by the seller, not us; always check the final price on their site before paying.

Not affiliated with listed businesses

We are not endorsed by, or an agent of, any business shown in the service, and being listed does not mean a business has any relationship with us (apart from the labelled affiliate links described above, which are arranged with ticket sellers, usually not with the venue itself). Business names, logos and trade marks belong to their owners. Listings are compiled automatically from Google's business data and each business's own public website. If you run a listed business and want your entry corrected or removed, email contact@familydealscanner.com.

Google Maps and Places content

Business information, photos and the map view are provided using Google Maps Platform. By using the service you also agree to be bound by the Google Maps/Google Earth Additional Terms of Service and acknowledge the Google Privacy Policy.

Links to other websites

"Visit Site" links take you to a business's own website, as a convenience — we don't host, control, or monitor what's there. A website that was genuine when we found it can change at any time after that, for reasons entirely outside our control — including being compromised, hacked, or altered by someone else into a phishing or malicious site. We can't guarantee the ongoing safety, content, or availability of any external site once you leave familydealscanner.com, no matter how it was reached. Visiting and interacting with any external site is entirely at your own risk and judgement, and we're not liable for any loss or harm arising from doing so.

Your account

• You must be 18 or over to register.
• You must provide a real, working email address to register.
• You're responsible for keeping your password secure.
• One account per person — don't register multiple accounts to bypass usage limits.
• Don't use the service to scrape, resell, or republish our data at scale, or to attempt to disrupt or abuse it (including the free homepage search).

Sponsored listings

We may, now or in future, let a business pay for enhanced placement in search results (clearly labelled as sponsored when shown). Sponsorship affects placement only — it never changes, fabricates, or hides the underlying findings (offers, events, announcements) we show about any business, sponsored or not.

Marketing emails

If you've opted in at registration (or later), we may email you — at most about once a week — about new offers, activities and features near your saved address. We never pass your email address to anyone else. You can unsubscribe at any time via the link in those emails, without affecting your account or the core service.

Changing or ending the service

This is a free service and we may change, suspend, or discontinue features, or the service as a whole, at any time. We'll try to give notice of anything significant where practical.

Ending your account

You can stop using the service at any time. Contact us to request full account deletion, and we'll remove your personal data as described in our Privacy Policy. We may also suspend or close accounts that misuse the service.

Liability

The service is free, and we provide it with reasonable care and skill but without promising it will always be available, error-free or complete. We aren't liable for loss caused by inaccurate or out-of-date listings that you could reasonably have avoided by confirming with the business, for loss caused by third-party websites or businesses, or for business losses (this is a service for consumers). Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability that can't lawfully be excluded or limited — including for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for your rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. If a dispute can't be resolved directly, the courts of England and Wales will have jurisdiction — though if you live elsewhere in the UK, you may also be able to bring a claim in your local courts. This doesn't affect any statutory rights you have as a consumer that can't be excluded by agreement.

Changes to these terms

We'll update this page if these terms change, and update the date at the top. For material changes we'll email registered users at least 14 days before they take effect; if you don't agree with a change you can close your account before then. Continuing to use the service after that date means you accept the updated terms.

General

If any part of these terms is found to be unenforceable, the rest still applies. These terms are between you and us; you can't transfer your account to someone else. If you have a complaint, email us first and we'll try to resolve it directly; you can also use any alternative dispute resolution body you are entitled to as a consumer.
